In a humanitarian initiative, the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Amritsar, facilitated the repatriation of nine Bangladeshi nationals, including two women, who had been staying at the transit camp of Central Jail, Amritsar, after completion of all legal formalities.
Officials said the process of sending the individuals back to Bangladesh commenced on June 11 in accordance with prescribed procedures and regulations. The group was provided with the necessary security arrangements and logistical support for the journey.

Authorities stated that the repatriated individuals are expected to reach the Bangladesh border after an approximately 30-hour train journey, where they will be formally handed over to the concerned authorities of their home country.

The entire process was carried out under the supervision and guidance of District and Sessions Judge-cum-Chairperson of the District Legal Services Authority, Amritsar, Jatinder Kaur. DLSA Secretary Amardeep Singh Bains played a key role in coordinating with various departments and officials to ensure the smooth execution of the repatriation process.
Officials noted that the return marks a significant moment for the individuals, many of whom had been separated from their families for an extended period. They said the coordinated efforts of various agencies had made it possible for them to reunite with their loved ones.
The District Legal Services Authority reiterated its commitment to providing legal assistance to deserving individuals and ensuring access to justice for those in need. It said similar efforts would continue in the future to support vulnerable persons through legal aid and welfare-oriented initiatives.
